A measurement of time-dependent CP violation in the decays of B 0 and B 0 mesons to the final states J/ψ (→ μ+ μ−) K S 0, ψ (2S)(→ μ+ μ−) K S 0 and J/ψ (→ e+ e−) K S 0 with K S 0→ π+ π− is presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb− 1 collected at a center-of-mass energy of√ s= 13 TeV with the LHCb detector. The CP-violation parameters are measured to be S ψK S 0= 0.717±0.013 (stat)±0.008 (syst) and C ψK S 0= 0.008±0.012 (stat)±0.003 (syst). This measurement of S ψK S 0 represents the most precise single measurement of the CKM angle β to date and is more precise than the current world average. In addition, measurements of the CP-violation parameters of the individual channels are reported and a combination with the LHCb Run 1 measurements is performed.

Using of collision data collected with the BESIII detector at the center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV, we investigate the semileptonic decays ( and ). The decay is observed for the first time. By analyzing simultaneously the differential decay rates of and in different four-momentum transfer intervals, the product of the relevant hadronic form factor and the magnitude of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element is determined to be for the first time. With the input of from the global fit in the standard model, we determine . The absolute branching fractions of and are determined as and . Combining these results with those of previous BESIII measurements on their semielectronic counterparts from the same data sample, we test lepton flavor universality by measuring the branching fraction ratios and ${\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) \mu^+\nu_\mu}/{\mathcal B}_{D^+\to f_0(500) e^+\nu_e}=1.14\pm0.28$, which are compatible with the standard model expectation.

The super τ-charm facility (STCF) is an electron–positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics community. It is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of 0.5 × 1035 cm−2·s−1 or higher. The STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that of the present τ-charm factory — the BEPCII, providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter (charge-parity violation), in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions, as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard Model. The STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R&D program. This document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF, describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system, and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics …

The decay-time-dependent C P asymmetry in B s 0→ J/ψ (→ μ+ μ−) K+ K− decays is measured using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 6 fb− 1, collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Using a sample of approximately 349 000 B s 0 signal decays with an invariant K+ K− mass in the vicinity of the ϕ (1020) resonance, the C P-violating phase ϕ s is measured, along with the difference in decay widths of the light and heavy mass eigenstates of the B s 0− Bs 0 system, Δ Γ s, and the difference of the average B s 0 and B 0 meson decay widths, Γ s− Γ d. The values obtained are ϕ s=− 0.039±0.022±0.006 rad, Δ Γ s= 0.0845±0.0044±0.0024 ps− 1, and Γ s− Γ d=− 0.05 6− 0.0015+ 0.0013±0.0014 ps− 1, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. By analyzing 7.33 fb− 1 of e+ e− annihilation data collected at center-of-mass energies between 4.128 and 4.226 GeV with the BESIII detector, we report the observation of the semileptonic decay D s+→ η′ μ+ ν μ, with a statistical significance larger than 10 σ, and the measurements of the D s+→ η μ+ ν μ and D s+→ η′ μ+ ν μ decay dynamics for the first time. The branching fractions of D s+→ η μ+ ν μ and D s+→ η′ μ+ ν μ are determined to be (2.235±0.05 1 stat±0.05 2 syst)% and (0.801±0.05 5 stat±0.02 8 syst)%, respectively, with precision improved by factors of 6.0 and 6.6 compared to the previous best measurements. Combined with the results for the decays D s+→ η e+ ν e and D s+→ η′ e+ ν e, the ratios of the decay widths are examined both inclusively and in several ℓ+ ν ℓ four-momentum transfer ranges. No evidence for lepton flavor universality violation is found within the current statistics. The products …

Using a data sample of (10087±44)× 10 6 J/ψ events collected by the BESIII detector in 2009, 2012, 2018 and 2019, the electromagnetic Dalitz process J/ψ→ e+ e− η (1405) is observed via the decay η (1405)→ π 0 f 0 (980), f 0 (980)→ π+ π−, with a significance of about 9.8 σ. The branching fraction of this decay is measured to be B (J/ψ→ e+ e− η (1405)→ e+ e− π 0 f 0 (980)→ e+ e− π 0 π+ π−)=(2.04±0.20 (stat)±0.08 (syst))× 10− 7. The branching fraction ratio B (J/ψ→ e+ e− η (1405))/B (J/ψ→ γ η (1405)) is determined to be (1.36±0.17 (stat)±0.06 (syst))× 10− 2. Furthermore, an e+ e− invariant mass dependent transition form factor of J/ψ→ e+ e− η (1405) is presented for the first time. The obtained result provides input for different theoretical models and is valuable for the improved understanding the intrinsic structure of the η (1405) meson.

The production of mesons in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of TeV is studied with the LHCb detector using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 34 nb. The prompt and nonprompt production cross-sections and the ratio of the to cross-section are measured as a function of the meson transverse momentum and rapidity in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass frame, together with forward-to-backward ratios and nuclear modification factors. The production of prompt is observed to be more suppressed compared to collisions than the prompt production, while the nonprompt productions have similar suppression factors.

The production of prompt D+ and mesons is studied in proton-lead collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of= 5. 02 TeV. The data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of (1. 58±0. 02) nb− 1 is collected by the LHCb experiment at the LHC. The differential production cross-sections are measured using D+ and candidates with transverse momentum in the range of 0< p T< 14 GeV/c and rapidities in the ranges of 1. 5< y∗< 4. 0 and–5. 0< y∗<–2. 5 in the nucleon-nucleon centre-of-mass system. For both particles, the nuclear modification factor and the forward-backward production ratio are determined. These results are compared with theoretical models that include initial-state nuclear effects. In addition, measurements of the cross-section ratios between D+, and D 0 mesons are presented, providing a baseline for studying the charm hadronization in lead-lead collisions at LHC energies.

The decay Ξ b−→ Λ b 0 π− is observed using a proton-proton collision data sample collected at center-of-mass energy s= 13 TeV with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.5 fb− 1. This process is mediated by the s→ u u d quark-level transition, where the b quark in the Ξ b− baryon is a spectator in the decay. Averaging the results obtained using the two Λ b 0 decay modes, Λ b 0→ Λ c+ π− and Λ b 0→ Λ c+ π− π+ π−, the relative production ratio is measured to be (f Ξ b−/f Λ b 0) B (Ξ b−→ Λ b 0 π−)=(7.3±0.8±0.6)× 10− 4. Here the uncertainties are statistical and systematic, respectively, and f Ξ b−(f Λ b 0) is the fragmentation fraction for a b quark into a Ξ b−(Λ b 0) baryon. Using an independent measurement of f Ξ b−/f Λ b 0, the branching fraction B (Ξ b−→ Λ b 0 π−)=(0.89±0.10±0.07±0.29)% is obtained, where the last uncertainty is due to the assumed SU (3) flavor symmetry in the …

Clear signals are observed for the two reactions. The cross sections in are measured to be mb and mb at the momentum of GeV/ within a range of GeV/, where the are the scattering angles of the in the rest frames. Furthermore, the differential cross sections of the two reactions are also measured, where there is a slight tendency of forward scattering for , and a strong forward peak for . We present an approach to extract the total cross sections by extrapolation. The study of represents the first study of antihyperon-nucleon scattering, and these new measurements will serve as important inputs for the theoretical understanding of the (anti)hyperon-nucleon interaction.

A study of prompt Ξ c+ production in proton-lead collisions is performed with the LHCb experiment at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 8.16 TeV in 2016 in p Pb and Pb p collisions with an estimated integrated luminosity of approximately 12.5 and 17.4 nb− 1, respectively. The Ξ c+ production cross section, as well as the Ξ c+ to Λ c+ production cross-section ratio, are measured as a function of the transverse momentum and rapidity and compared to the latest theory predictions. The forward-backward asymmetry is also measured as a function of the Ξ c+ transverse momentum. The results provide strong constraints on theoretical calculation and are a unique input for hadronization studies in different collision systems.

The first observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed Ω c 0→ Ω− K+ and Ω c 0→ Ξ− π+ decays is reported, using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb− 1, collected with the LHCb detector between 2016 and 2018. The branching fraction ratios are measured to be B (Ω c 0→ Ω− K+) B (Ω c 0→ Ω− π+)=[6.08±0.51 (stat)±0.40 (syst)]%, B (Ω c 0→ Ξ− π+) B (Ω c 0→ Ω− π+)=[15.81±0.87 (stat)±0.44 (syst)±0.16 (ext)]%. In addition, using the Ω c 0→ Ω− π+ decay channel, the Ω c 0 baryon mass is measured to be M (Ω c 0)= 2695.28±0.07 (stat)±0.27 (syst)±0.30 (ext) MeV, improving the precision of the previous world average by a factor of 4.
